MARION, IL (KFVS) -Marion police are looking for the trigger man who killed 30-year-old LaQuinn Hudson early Sunday morning.

The homicide investigation began shortly after 3 a.m. when police were called to a home at 407 South Liberty Street.

When they arrived, officers found Hudson laying on the ground in a pool of blood.

One of his friends mother, Wendy Allen says LaQuinn had joined her son Sherman for Sherman's birthday party at a bar on West Boynton Street until late Saturday night.

"Then afterwards another friend of Sherman's was throwing an after party, and they all went down there to that party," Allen said.

Allen said shortly before 3 o'clock Sunday morning, her son told her he heard LaQuinn arguing with another man at the party.

"And then they heard gunshots and they started running. Then my son looked back and saw LaQuinn laying on the ground, that's when he and his girlfriend tired to help him and they called 911," said Allen.

Hudson was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by the Williamson County Coroner at 3:11 a.m.

"I don't know why anyone would want to do anything like that to him. He didn't have a gun. He was just there at the party dancing and having fun," Allen said.

Now the Williamson County Major Case Squad is investigating Hudson's death. If you have any information about this homicide, please contact the Marion Police Department at 618-993-2124.
