Sikeston police bust another underage drinking party

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Sikeston police tell us they arrested five teens for possession of alcohol.

"We aren't going to tolerate this kind of thing, we want to send a message that we want to stop these parties before someone gets hurt," said Sgt. Jim McMillen.

Saturday night, police got a tip there was a party going on at a home at 805 Sikes street. When authorities arrived, police say the teens scattered.

One person ran from police and was also charged with resisting arrest. Authorities eventually found teens hiding in a closet and discovered alcohol near the pool area.

Right now police are still investigating. They are trying to find out how the teens got the alcohol and whether or not the homeowner knew there was drinking going on.

"If we find out they were aware and there's enough evidence we will charge them," said Sgt. McMillen. "That goes for this situation or any other."
