Volunteers learn search and rescue skills

SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Some volunteers in Scott County got hands on training in search and rescue operations Saturday afternoon.

The course is offered by Scott County Emergency Management. It's funded through a grant through Homeland Security.

During today's training, volunteers learned everything they need to know about how to search for someone who's gone missing. They started in the classroom and then did a mock search at the General Watkins Conservation Area near Morley.

On Sunday, those participating in the class will go out on their own and put their skills to the test.
