NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A moving van crashed on Interstate 55, spilling its contents all over the median.
It happened around 7:45 p.m. near mile marker 56. This is in the North bound lanes.
According to a trooper on the scene, the driver of a Penske moving truck fell asleep at the wheel. When he woke up, he overcorrected, ran off the road, and the truck fell on its side in the median.
A woman who was in the truck told Heartland News she and the man were moving to Chicago. She said they spent the entire day packing.
When the tow truck tried to upright the vehicle, the side actually came off, spilling all the contents of the truck in the median.
The driver was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Crews are working to clear the scene.
