SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Police in Sikeston arrest a man and confiscate a large amount of cocaine.

Officers say an ongoing investigation with the DEA and SEMO Drug Task Force lead to a traffic stop just north of Sikeston on Highway H Friday morning.

Due to the nature of the stop, investigators called in a drug dog to check the car over.

The k-9 alerted, telling officers there were narcotics inside. When police searched, they found a half kilo of powder cocaine. With a street value estimated around $25,000.

The driver of the vehicle, 61-year-old Solomon Hatchett of Sikeston was arrested and charged with trafficking drugs in the second degree.

Hatchett was taken to the Scott County Jail. His bond is set at $100,000 cash only.
