LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A pair of Jefferson County Public School principals suspended in the aftermath of busing problems on the first day of school are set to return to work Monday.
The Courier-Journal reported that King Elementary principal Julia Lewis and Lincoln Elementary principal Sonya Unseld received written reprimands for failing to take "significant action" to prepare for the school district's new transportation plan.
Both were suspended with pay while the school district investigated.
First day problems resulted in hundreds of students from their schools being improperly tagged to return home on buses.
About a dozen students from those schools didn't arrive home until after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
