SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Two suspects have been arrested in a Sikeston purse snatching case.
Late Friday night, the Sikeston Dept. of Public Safety announced the arrest of Ronnie Anthony Stokes. He was reportedly taken into custody around 7 p.m. in Lilbourn.
Officers believe Stokes forcibly stole a 59-year-old woman's purse Thursday as she was walking into Food Giant at 945 E. Malone. The suspect ran and got into a vehicle, which drove off as police responded.
Earlier Friday, Sikeston DPS announced the arrest of suspected accomplice Robin B. Jones. Investigators believe Jones drove the getaway vehicle.
Investigators believe both suspects later used the victim's credit card at two convenience stores. The suspects were able to be identified with the help of store surveillance video.
Stokes was charged with second-degree robbery and given a $15,000 cash or surety bond. Jones was charged with second-degree robbery, fraudulent use of a credit device and driving with a revoked license. He was given a $15,000 cash or surety bond.
