CAPE GIRARDEAU (KFVS) - A fight over a parking space reportedly triggered a potentially dangerous situation Thursday afternoon behind a Cape Girardeau business.

An officer on scene said the incident began when two people were arguing over a spot behind The Comix Strip, a comic book-collectible store located in the 800 block of Broadway.

An officer was called to break up the situation, but that officer immediately called for backup when one of the people involved threatened to pull a knife.  However, according to Cape Girardeau Police Sgt. Jason Selzer, the person never did display a knife or any other weapon, and fled when the officer called for backup.

Officers eventually did find the suspect and issued him a summons for misdemeanor police disturbance.  The suspect's name was not released.

No one was injured.
