ST. LOUIS (AP) - Several prominent Democrats are gathering in St. Louis Thursday and Friday for the Democratic National Committee's summer meetings.
The meetings are at the Marriott Hotel in Union Station and come at a time when St. Louis is among four finalists to host the Democratic convention in 2012. A decision is expected later this year.
Vice President Joe Biden will speak Friday. Others expected to attend include DNC Chairman Tim Kaine, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Sen. Claire McCaskill and Gov. Jay Nixon.
