PERRY COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Perry County, Illinois man stabbed himself during a drug raid Thursday August 12th.

Police went to the man's home after his wife, Bambi Lombardo, went to police and said that she wanted a drug dog and officers to search her house because her soon to be ex-husband had brought drugs into her home.

When deputies showed up at the home of 49 year-old Martin Harmon, near Du Quoin, they say they searched the house and found methadone and a large amount of marijuana.

Investigators say Harmon told them the drugs were his and as officers where getting ready to arrest him, they say he stabbed himself in the neck.

Harmon was flown to a hospital in St. Louis.  There's no word on his condition.
