Today is Wednesday, August 18
OK - first things first. We all like to win free stuff, and today on The Breakfast Show you can do just that! Today, tomorrow and Friday we are giving away tickets to the grandstand concerts at the Du Quoin State fair. This morning watch for your chance to be the 12th caller to get 4 tickets for the Lee Ann Womack concert. You can also enter on-line for other concerts at the fair.
Second - we all like weather that's not as hot as it's been the last few weeks. Well we might be in luck for a few more hours - until the sun heats us right back up and the humidity returns. Brian wanted to keep the humidity away - but no luck. Check out his morning blog for much more on today's forecast.
Third - we have a lot of news this morning.
Of course we're looking to see what comes next for Rod Blagojevich after a federal jury convicted him on only 1 charge of lying to federal agents. That was 1 charge out of 24. Blagojevich and his legal team see it as a victory - the government says not so fast - they're already preparing for another trial. No word yet if the former governor is in line for any other reality shows.
Here in the Heartland - Marion police find a huge pot growing operation in town. Check out the picture on the side of this email.
Close to the Heartland, when you think of Lake of the Ozarks what comes to mind? State and local leaders think more and more its recent water contamination. So what's being done to fix this image? We'll show you this morning at 5:30.
Missed 5:30 - that's OK - there's another 1 1/2 hours of news and weather.
5:45 - You've probably seen the commercials by now where a newlywed couple is on their bed depositing checks to the bank through their iPhone... We'll show you how it really works and see if it's really safe.
6:05 - Dress codes at school. Love 'em or hate 'em, more schools are adopting strict dress code policies. We'll show you how it's being received by students and parents.
6:15 - Does it Work Wednesday! Today Lauren is taking on the mighty mosquito with the OFF! Clip. Spoiler Alert
6:45 - 15 minutes of overnight headlines and weather. Don't miss this part of The Breakfast Show any morning if you want to know what's happened overnight and what you can expect for the rest of your day.
