Breaking: Blogojevich found guilty on 1 of 24 counts

CHICAGO (AP) — A federal jury has found ex-Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich guilty of one count of lying to federal agents.

The jury returned its verdict on Tuesday in the corruption case against Blagojevich.

The judge in Blagojevich trial says he plans to call a mistrial on all remaining counts.

US attorneys say the government plans to retry the Blagojevich case "as quickly as possible."

The verdict comes on the 14th days of deliberations.  Jurors had asked earlier Tuesday for advice on filling gout their verdict forms, suggesting they are nearing the end of deliberations.  They also asked for a copy of the oath they took before deliberating.

Blagojevich pleaded not guilty to trying to sell or trade President Barrack Obama's old Senate seat and leverage the power of his office for personal gain.  His brother, a Nashville, Tenn. businessman, has also pleaded not guilty.
