GREENVILLE, MO (KFVS) - Several hundred Wayne County school students will get an extended summer vacation.
The Greenville R-II district will not begin the 2010-2011 school year until Thursday, Sept. 9, due to construction delays on the new elementary school, said superintendent Jim Morrison. The new year was originally set to begin Thursday, Aug. 25.
Open house at Greenville Elementary, Williamsville Elementary and Greenville Junior High is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 5:00-6:30 p.m., Morrison said.
An estimated 850 students attend all four schools in the Greenville R-II district.
