PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - If you ever travel you may now this little trick...if police officers are eating at a local restaurant you know it's good!! With that in mind, we though the Perryville Police Department would be the perfect place to start when trying to track down the best local places to eat in Perryville. Assistant Chief of Police William Jones says it's hard to pick one place when there are so many good ones.
"I think our department probably knows all of the good places to eat in town," saID Jones.
One place voted the best in Perry County is Ewald's BBQ. They not only have the best BBQ in the county but are voted best burgers and milkshakes too. When you try to ask a regular what the best is they can't even answer. One local says it's all good and she can't even pick a favorite.
Another top sandwich stop in town is Stonie's. They, of course, are known for their fabulous meats and when you stack all that tasty meat on a sandwich you've definitely got a good meal. Many locals say a meal isn't complete at Stonie's without their signature side, their kettle chips.
Park-Et restaurant is the place to go if you want a good ole' home cooked meal. One of the customers say everything is delicious because it is all home cooked. The fried chicken and desserts are on the top of most folk's list.
The police officers' number one choice for lunch is Galati's Italian. This is a popular place for all ages. The pizza and pasta are always a big hit and locals say this is the best buffet in town.
These four restaurants combined have been serving Perryville for almost 200 years. The newest addition, The Barrens Winery, have only been open since July but are already adding the success of local eateries in Perryville.
Another local favorite is Hoeckle's. Hoeckle's has been serving locals in Perryville since 1937, and is one of the longest running local restaurants in town. Their pastries, coffee cakes, ice cream and sandwiches are all huge hits around town.
