CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Here's the big one that did not get away.
Several fishermen on the Missouri side of the Mississippi River caught a big catfish Sunday night.
Rick Hastings says he was anchored up and fishing when suddenly they went for a ride.
"Going down the river and it was just pulling the boat all around," Hastings said. "We fought it for probably a good half hour to an hour. And we were actually going down towards Scott City from about a mile from where we were fishing at."
They used their own scales to weight the catfish.
Unofficial weight is 115 pounds.
The fishermen say they'll take it to the conservation department for an official weight and maybe they'll find out if they've set some sort of record.
