BLOOMFIELD, MO (KFVS) - State fire officials continue to investigate an apartment fire in Bloomfield.  Still no word on what caused the blaze at Battle's Apartments.

It happened last Thursday around 2 p.m. People who live there say the damage was so extensive it left them homeless.

"It looks like a bomb went off," said Patrick Leary. "I'm just trying to get my stuff out."

Bloomfield police say at this point in the investigation, it looks like the fire started in a unit belonging to Jason Marrs. Marrs was arrested on meth charges just two hours after the blaze broke out at a Stoddard County Dollar General store.

Authorities say they have not found a reason to suspect Marrs is connected to the fire.

Residents and neighbors say five of the apartment's six units were rented.
