DOWELL, IL (KFVS) - Jackson County deputies arrested a man after they say he hit his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend.
According to the report, police were called to a house on Washington Avenue in Dowell where a man said he had been hit in the face and had some property destroyed in his home.
He also said the other man claimed to have killed his dog.
It didn't take deputies too long to find the suspect, 23-year-old Joshua Layman of Benton, Illinois.
He was arrested and locked behind bars in the county jail.
The victim's dog was later found alive and unharmed.
