Police look for three suspects after checks forged, cashed

MARION, IL (KFVS) - Police are looking for as many as three Hispanic men in a burglary and forgery case.

Payroll checks from Short Brothers Construction and Midwest Waste, both of Marion, were stolen in burglaries. Police say the suspects forged several of these checks and cashed them for large sums of money at banks in Marion, Carterville, and West Frankfort using out-of-state identification cards.

When a bank employee questioned one suspect, the suspect left quickly, according to Williamson County Sheriff's Office.  The man left his out-of-state identification card at the bank which proved to be a fake ID card.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Williamson County Sheriff's Office at 618-997-6541, the Marion Police Department at 618-993-2124, the Carterville Police at 618-985-4853 or Williamson County Crimestoppers at 1-800-414-TIPS (8477).  Tips can also be provided by online message at www.williamsoncrimestoppers.com, or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637).
