PORTAGEVILLE, MO (KFVS) - A fiery crash at the I-55 southbound exit at Portageville has caused a large mess of backed-up traffic Thursday morning.

According to the Portageville Police Department, Portageville fire fighters were called to the exit because there was a jack-knifed FedEx semi burning on the side of the interstate.

Both New Madrid and Pemiscot County Sheriff Departments tell us they are assisting with traffic from their respective sides of the wreck.

A truck driver stuck in traffic near the wreck tells us the there's nothing left of the truck but he doesn't think the driver was seriously hurt.
