CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Community Back to School Fair will be held August 5 at the Salvation Army in Cape Girardeau. It goes on from noon to 5 p.m.. Registration takes place August 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
If you are not pre-registered, you can still benefit but organizers ask those folks to come after 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 5.
Sports physicals will also be offered. Each child getting a physical needs to be with a guardian. Sports physical forms are available at registration.
You will need a Social Security Card, Medicaid card or print out from DFS for each child receiving school supplies.
"It's a big help from the entire community," said Mike Bowers of the Salvation Army. "Kids will be able to get backpacks, paper, pencils and just about anything they might need for school."
Donations are still being accepted.
