CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - You've probably heard the saying, "It's hot enough to fry an egg outside."
We put that saying to the test. An egg was broken outside our studios on top of a sewer cover and by the end of Heartland News at five it was just starting to cook around the edges.
After a little cooking we decided to try our hand at baking. At about 2:15 p.m. we put chocolate chip cookies on a baking sheet and stuck them on the dash board of a news vehicle.
We checked in on the cookies every hour and they were indeed baking in the car! By news time, the cookies were completely cooked and ready to be served!
Well, no one decided to eat the cookies and we definitely don't recommend cooking or baking this way but it definitely proves it is HOT enough to cook and bake outside.
