Vehicle fire causes problems on Interstate 55

By Heartland News

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A vehicle fire on Interstate 55 backs up traffic for about a mile.

The pick-up truck caught fire around 3:00p.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate, just north of the William street exit.

Firefighters say it looks like some kind of oil leak in the engine area sparked the fire which quickly spread to the rest of the pick-up.

Right now, the fire is out and there are no reports of injuries.
