ALTO PASS, IL (KFVS) - Renewed efforts to complete the Bald Knob Cross are underway, despite recent sexual abuse allegations against one of the group's leaders.

The group announced "Top of the Cross Tours" will take place the first two weekends of August only.

On the tour, folks can walk more than 80 steps to the top, but the view will cost $20. Organizers say its to help with restoration funding.

Members of the Bald Knob Cross of Peace board also announced a memorial brick project.

Those will cost between $125 and $250 and will be put in the courtyard of the cross.

Board members are working to trademark the cross to help ensure money for maintenance once its restored.
