STEELE, MO (KFVS) - A Steele policeman received minor injuries Tuesday while chasing a man with a gun.
Police say Sgt. Randy Trimm responded to a call on Bates St. where apparently shots were fired. The suspect ran for several blocks but was taken into custody by police.
Deputies from the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department found a .40 caliber handgun that police say the suspect threw during the chase.
The 27-year-old man is from Steele and was being held at the Pemiscot County Jail. He was charged with felony possession of a handgun, armed criminal action, resisting arrest, and assault on a law enforcement officer.
Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield says the man's name is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.
