SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - A Sikeston Department of Public Safety worker's mistake caused some confusion Friday morning, as a wrong button was hit.
Jim McMillian, Sgt. of Sikeston DPS says it all began when police in East Prairie asked for the bomb squad to get rid of some ammo that someone dropped off at the station.
A worker pushed a wrong button at Sikeston DPS and the call went out to everyone on the department's code red system instead of just the squad.
McMillian says people from all around the area were getting phone calls saying "The bomb squad needs to go to East Prairie."
Police are apologizing for the mistake.
