SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - For a couple of years now, TLC has a show called "Toddlers and Tiaras" featuring young children in beauty pageants.
Some little ones in the Heartland could be featured on that show Wednesday at 9 p.m. CDT.
Back in December, the show came and taped at a beauty pageant in Bernie, Missouri and Wednesday night is the premiere night.
Toddlers like 2-year-old Baylee Hackworth took part in the pageant and her mom says the stage is where Baylee belongs.
"When Baylee gets on stage she comes alive," said Staci Hackworth. "Baylee's been in pageants since she was 10 months old and we've probably done 40 pageants."
Baylee says she love pageants and that is a love shared by many in Sikeston.
"She gets up in the morning and asks me is it pageant day is it pageant day yet," said Heather O'Guinn.
Heather says her daughter Alayna transforms on stage. The shirts on these moms says "Pageant Mom" but mom's here say they aren't your typical controlling stage moms.
"She got burnt out at one time so we stopped and then she decided she wanted to start doing them again," said Bethley Clinton.
Bethley says pageants give her daughter Chloe so much more than trophies and crowns.
"I really think it's helped with their confidence and self esteem," said Bethley.
The pageant world isn't only about girls though, plenty of boys like Joshua McClendon. His mother Alyshia says Joshua loves to get on the stage and shake his booty. While crowns are a big hit with the girls, Joshua says for him it's more about the money.
"I don't know what I'm going to do with it my mom put it in a safe," said Joshua.
"He got to spend half of it the other half got put into savings," said Alyshia.
All of these toddlers were in it to win it, none of them left Bernie empty handed and to watch the episode tune in Wednesday night at 9 p.m. CDT on TLC.
