SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers say they are looking for suspects who allegedly robbed, kidnapped, and beat up a man on his way home from work.

Detectives say just after midnight Friday they got a call from a man who told them he was walking home from work when he was forced inside a car.

The man told police he was hit in the head with a hammer before the thieves took his cell phone, shoes, and wallet.

He says they eventually let him out across town on Elizabeth Street. That's several miles away from where he was picked up in a residential neighborhood.

He went to Missouri Delta Medical Center for injuries and was later released.

Police are looking for three men in a white four-door car. Authorities aren't releasing many details about the victim.
