WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS) - Two people have major injuries after a rollover crash on Interstate 57 Monday afternoon.

Jessica Helm, 35, of Normal was driving an SUV with she swerved to miss another vehicle in the northbound lanes at mile marker 63.35, according to Illinois State Police.

The  SUV overturned and Helm's mother, 64-year-old Rosemary Glidwell and 7-year-old Carla suffered major injures.  They were airlifted to Deaconnes Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

A four-year-old boy was treated and released at Herrin Hospital.

Firefighters had to cut the two women from the vehicle.

Two helicopters landed in the northbound lanes, shutting down traffic both ways for a time, according to ISP.

Once those helicopters landed, one lane in each the north and southbound lanes opened before all the lanes re-opened.

This makes at least three crashes within the past week on I-57.  It is one mile from where a seven-vehicle crash that killed two people happened Thursday.  A motorcyclist was killed Saturday morning at mile marker 45 on I-57.
