PIEDMONT, MO (KFVS) - A woman is behind bars in St Louis accused of an attack that left a man dead.
According to Chief Richard Sanders, detectives from St Louis came to Piedmont and took the woman back with them.
Chief Sanders says the arrest came after an attack in St Louis on Tuesday July 6th.
Sanders, quoting St Louis media, said a fight broke out between two groups of men and women.
The victim, 29-year-old Mark Little of St Louis, suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest and shoulder area.
Witnesses say a woman stabbed Little, who was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Chief Sanders says information turned up by St Louis detectives led them to a suspect in Piedmont.
Sanders says on Wednesday July 7th at around 3:30p.m. detectives called him about one woman taken into custody at her home in Piedmont. A second woman was taken into custody at about 10:30p.m. that same day.
St Louis detectives took both women to St Louis.
On Thursday July 8th members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E Division of Drug and Crime Control processed the car the women had allegedly occupied and collected evidence to be sent to St Louis.
One of the women, a 20 year-old, has been charged with 2nd Degree murder and armed criminal action. The second woman was released.
Investigators have not released the suspect's name at this time.
