Good Morning
Today is Monday, July 12

After a rough evening of severe weather - most of us are waking up to a calm morning. But that doesn't mean we're in the clear today. Brian's saying we need to watch out for more active weather later today. Be sure to keep an eye to KFVS on-air and on-line (web, Facebook, Twitter and cell) for any updates.

This morning on The Breakfast Show Jim and Lauren are also talking weather. There's still a lot of clean-up to be done in and around Johnston City - we'll have the latest on the power situation in town. And we'll be showing you more damage from the Kansas City area.

This morning we also have new details about a deadly fire in Kennett over the weekend.

We're also looking ahead to this week in Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial. The government is about to rest their case which means it's time for Blagojevich's defense team to make their case. We're told they will be trying to show jurors that the former governor isn't really as bad a guy as the prosecution says he is.

Closer to home - the Carter County sheriff's department is still looking for Phillip Wayne Catlett - he's still on the run considered armed and dangerous.

This morning around 5:45 on The Breakfast Show we will be showing you some great ways to cut your credit card spending.

Then around 6:15 Jim will show us a new - and quite amazing - eye surgery that will enable people with macular degeneration to see again. It's called the eye telescope!

And finally a reminder - tomorrow (Tuesday) we're asking you to come out and join us at Rent One Ballpark in Marion for Heartland News LIVE On The Road. We will be broadcasting out 6 p.m. News from the ballpark before the All Star Homerun Derby!

I hope to see you there - and thank you this morning for checking in with The Breakfast Show.
