Man dies in two vehicle crash that closed I-24 bridge

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah man is dead after a two vehicle crash on eastbound I-24 Wednesday evening.

Donald G. Winn, 74, of Paducah had stopped in the eastbound lanes of the I-24 bridge over the Ohio River to secure a ladder in the back of his 2004 Chevy pickup truck, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.

When Winn got back into his truck, he was rear-ended by a 2004 Dodge pickup truck driven by Bobby J. Farmer, 31, of Metropolis.

Paramedics pronounced Winn dead at the scene.

Eastbound I-24 was closed for about two hours during the investigation and clean-up.

The crash is still under investigation.
