Mo. gets $1.3M job training grant from feds

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri is receiving nearly $1.3 million from the federal government to help retrain workers.

Gov. Jay Nixon's administration says the grant from the U.S. Department of Labor is targeted for companies that hire people who had lost their jobs.

The on-the-job training program reimburses businesses for at least half the wages of workers hired through the program.

The grant is part of the federal economic stimulus act.
