OKANOGAN COUNTY, WA (KFVS) - Miranda Cross's dad hopes to have the 10-year-old back in his arms sometime Thursday.

Donny Cross's mom, Regina Sawyer, say her son headed to Washington as soon as he found out authorities in Okanogan County had his daughter in protective custody.

Authorities in that county arrested Miranda's mom, Violet Martindale, around noon Central time on Wednesday.

She is being held in the Okanogan County jail on a Dunklin County warrant charging her with felony child abduction.

According to authorities in Washington, Martindale will face a judge Thursday morning and be given the chance to either waive or fight extradition back to Kennett.

Donny Cross says his ex-wife, Violet Martindale, left Kennett with their daughter on June 16.  Cross says he talked to Martindale by phone on the 28th, but she would not let him talk to his daughter.

Donny Cross, who won primary custody of his daughter on June 9, says Martindale took off with Miranda when she was three years old.  Cross says in that case, it took him four years to get his daughter back.

Regina Sawyer says she wants to thank everyone for their support during the two weeks Miranda was missing.
