6 firefighters injured, 1 serious in wreck on way to fight house fire

FARMINGTON, MO (KFVS) - Six Farmington firefighters were injured early Sunday morning when their truck crashed en route to a house fire.

The truck wrecked around 1:30 a.m., shortly after firefighters had been called to help the Wolf Creek Fire Department with a residential structure fire, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Officials say the driver lost control when two tires dropped off the right side of the road.  The truck ran into an embankment and flipped.

All six firefighters on board the truck were hurt, two were thrown from the truck, including the driver who was seriously hurt.  He was was flown to a St. Louis trauma center for treatment.  The other five had only minor injuries.
