CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Dr. Kenneth Dobbins will be staying with Southeast Missouri State University for at least four more years.
At its meeting Tuesday, the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents voted to extend Dobbins' contract.
Dr. Dobbins' new contract runs from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2014.
Dobbins has served as president of the university since July of 1999.
Bob Bell, the president of the Board of Regents, said the new contract is based on an assessment of the university's accomplishments and Dobbins' leadership, especially in light of recent cuts in state aid to Missouri higher education.
"I am very pleased that the board has extended my contract," Dobbins said. "I have enjoyed working with our board and appreciate their support and leadership," he added.
