HILLSBORO, MO (KFVS) - A Jackson man is among three bail bondsmen taken into custody after being accused of spraying pepper spray in a man's eyes and on his genitals.
Shawn Boyer, 38, of Jackson, was released Tuesday on $5,000 bond, said Jefferson County Sheriff Oliver "Glenn" Boyer. Boyer said a second bondsman, Kevin Ritrovato, 28, of Arnold, was also released Tuesday on $5,000 bond.
A third bondsman, Sean Baker, 33, of Festus, was released on $7,500 bond.
Sheriff Boyer said all three were charged Monday with third degree felonious restraint and assault. The charges came after the victim accused the bondsmen of holding him on June 5, then striking him in the face with a water bottle.
The victim claims the bondsmen then forced him to remove several articles of clothing and used the pepper spray on him.
The victim is currently an inmate in the Jefferson County Jail, sheriff Boyer said.
