Delay in sentencing of teen who pleaded guilty to murder

(KFVS) - There is a delay in the sentencing of a teen who admitted killing his legal guardian.

John Wilfong, 18, originally faced sentencing on Monday.

His attorney asked that it be delayed so a mental health expert could prepare a report about Wilfong's competency.

Wilfong pleaded guilty to charges of second degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Pamela Ackman who was also his cousin.

Judge Joe Satterfield ordered the new sentencing date must be set before July 31.
