Area roads buckling from hot weather, can cause accidents

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Roads are buckling more often around the area due to extreme temperatures in the Heartland.

Monday a piece of roadway on Kingshighway near Cape County Park buckled and the same thing happened Sunday on Broadview.

Police are saying to be careful and watch for buckling in the road.

Cape Girardeau Police Officer Jonathan Jenson says to slow down and go over the roads carefully because pieces of concrete and rebar that can puncture tires.
