SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Bridgework will begin next Monday on Route Y in Stoddard County, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Work to replace the Route Y bridge over Little River Drainage Ditch No. 33 in Stoddard County is expected to begin on Monday, June 28. The roadway will remain closed from Route N to Route P as construction is underway. Completion is anticipated in late July.
This is the second bridge to be replaced on Route Y in Stoddard County. MoDOT says that the Route Y bridge over Little River, which is currently under construction, will open to traffic prior to the closure of the LRDD No. 33 bridge.
Improvements will be completed through the Safe and Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
The program will improve more than 800 of the state's lowest-rated bridges by winter 2013.
Signs and warning devices will be in place as improvements are underway.
