Good Morning
Today is Friday, June 18

And because it's a Friday we're going to be having some fun this morning. Lauren will be out at the Cape Girardeau airport hanging out with the Blue Angels. Not a bad way to spend a morning. Look for her between 6 and 7 this morning.

This morning on The Breakfast Show we'll also be talking a lot about the continued heat bearing down on the Heartland. According to Laura it's going to be in the mid 90's with a chance of some pop-up storms. But if you're lucky you'll just be enjoying the wonders of technology and staying inside with the AC on.

But to the far north of us the weather was not so good. News the towns of Parkers Prairie and Albert Lea tornados tore paths of destruction. We'll be showing you both these twisters throughout the morning.

In Utah - a story I've never had to write about before. A man was executed overnight by a firing squad. Condemned killer Ronnie Lee Gardner's lawyer's last minute appeals and requests for a stay were rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court and Utah's governor. But here's the really strange part of this story - it wasn't a judge that chose execution by firing squad, Gardner did.

On The Breakfast Show we also have news of a crash in Perry County, MO that sent a local woman to the hospital.

We also continue to follow the tragic death of two toddlers in a hot car and the oil spill in the gulf.

Plus - it's the newest fad diet that's getting a lot of buzz. Have you heard about the ice cube diet? It uses a plant called hoodia. Don't know anything about hoodia? Neither did I. But you can learn all about it this morning at 6:15.
