MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) - A small plane crash closed the Mayfield-Graves Airport for several hours Wednesday.
It happened shortly after 1 p.m.
Ryan Smith was taking a flight test in a crop duster.
When he attempted to land, the nose of the plane touched the ground and the plane flipped over.
An ambulance took Smith to Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. He's in fair condition and expected to fully recover.
FAA officials were at the airport observing the test when the plane crashed.
The airport re-opened around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
