Police Chief Faces More Charges

(Cardwell, MO)--Cardwell Police Chief Harvey Beasley faces forgery charges and a continued investigation by the Missouri Department of Conservation. This comes one week after Beasley pleaded guilty to four federal misdemeanor charges.
But Conservation Department officials are not happy about the charges. One source in the department tells Heartland News there were not enough charges and the fines were not steep enough. Beasley will pay at least $2,500 dollars in fines and court costs.
Chief Beasley says he wants to put the charges behind him and continue as chief, something he has done for the last nine years. He also says he has the support of Mayor David Bishop.
Beasley is one of two police officers in Cardwell.
