CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - This week is National Ride Your Bike to Work Week and many people across the area are participating.

In fact, after we put the call out to bike riders on Facebook the response was impressive.  Not only because their were a lot of riders, but because most of the bike riders aren't just riding to work this week, but they ride to work every week.

Kris Baranovic is one of those riders.  He says he got rid of his car more than three years ago and has never looked back.  He says riding a bike is a life style.

"We're all out here everyday and people that say we're crazy just haven't tried it," Baranovic said." It's well within everyone's means and it's a life changer. You're one with the elements and you can smell things and people can talk to you and there's no glass and steel bubble to keep everything out. Your just there and you become part of the environment and the environment becomes you."

If you choose to ride your bike to work always wear a helmet and be sure to ride with the traffic when on the street and abide by all traffic laws.  Help reduce pollution and promote good health!
