WEST FRANKFORT, IL (KFVS) - After several weeks of discussions and numerous heated city council meeting, Cardinal EMS announced it will not renew it contract with the city of West Frankfort.
That means they will no longer provide primary ambulance service for the city.
Mayor Marion Presley says officials with Cardinal EMS told him they didn't like how they've been treated around West Frankfort.
The city council will have to make a decision about the city's ambulance service at their next meeting.
One commissioner says the city does not have the money to run the fire department's ambulance service.
The issue has been at the center of several city council meetings.
