Land Between The Lakes camping areas that are open

The information below is provided by the USDA Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.

The areas listed below are OPEN for camping. Areas not listed are CLOSED for Public and Staff Safety. All boat ramps are CLOSED except Grays Landing, Twin Lakes South, Nickell Branch, and Cravens Bay. For additional information, stop by Golden Pond Visitor Center, North or South Welcome Station, or visit Both lakes have been re-opened to boat traffic by the US Coast Guard.

Camping Areas:

  • Boswell Landing—High ground only
  • Fenton
  • Nickell Branch
  • Redd Hollow—High ground only
  • Sugar Bay—Camping only
  • Star Camp—Temporarily open for camping through Wednesday, due to flood event
  • Taylor Bay—High ground only
  • Twin Lakes North

Developed Campgrounds:

  • Energy Lake
  • Hillman Ferry (limited basic sites and Area "A" Boat Ramp open to campers only)
  • Piney (limited facilities—sewage treatment plant shut down)
  • Wranglers

Note: Some recreation activities may be limited due to flood conditions.

There are hazards associated with high water. We urge visitors to use extra caution throughout LBL until areas are posted OPEN and are cleaned up. Please check back, as conditions will change.
