Deadly Interstate Accident By CJ Cassidy
(Scott Co., MO) -- Missouri Highway Patrol Officers are still looking for the driver of a red ford pick up truck they say is responsible for two weekend interstate accidents.
Both accidents happened when pieces of firewood flew off the back of a trailer attached to a red Ford pick up truck.
The first happened close to Miner. The second happened just North of Benton on I-55 when an S-U-V driver lost control of his vehicle when he swerved to avoid hitting the falling wood.
18 year old Daniel Ryan Junior from Saint Louis and his 15 year old female passenger were both ejected from the vehicle.
Troopers say Ryan was then struck by another vehicle in the southbound lanes. Highway Patrol Officers say eyewitness reports point to a blond haired woman behind the wheel... with a dark haired male passenger.
They say the passenger saw the accident but urged the driver to keep going on -- an act that could add up to some very serious charges ranging from failure to secure a load to even manslaughter.
