BARDWELL, KY (KFVS) - A Carlisle County woman was arrested on eight counts of theft.

Kentucky State Police say Carolyn Reid abused a power of attorney and took approximately $300,000 from a family member who trusted her to oversee his finances.

After an investigation, police learned Reid had been the Chapter representative for the Carlisle County Red Cross until 1998 when their charter was revoked.  Reid reportedly continued to collect money for the organization from 1998 to 2009 and kept the nearly $11,000 she collected.

Reid was charged with failure to make required disposition of property over $300, one count of failure to make disposition of property over $500 and knowingly exploiting an adult for over $300.
