PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The city of Paducah was awarded $910,000 from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) Program.

The city of Paducah will give a $300,000 match and the Paducah-McCracken County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Paducah Renaissance Alliance will also give matches of $10,000 each.

The BIG program funds will go to Paducah to build a 400 foot long transient dock with space for 26 boat slips and a fuel dock on the riverfront near Schultz Park.

Mayor Bill Paxton says the funds are an amazing boost for their riverfront project.

Paducah's riverfront is one of 13 projects to get funding.

The funding for BIG comes from the Sport Fishing and Boating Trust Fund.
