Afternoon update: Schools rally together for Fredericktown, 3-yr.-old killed by tractor

Good Friday afternoon to you.  Heartland schools rally together to help another school in need.  Students from the Caruthersville and Jackson are collecting supplies to help the Fredericktown School District.  The middle school was destroyed in a fire over the weekend.  Then, a popular high school teacher was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday.  Funeral arrangements have been made for 29-year-old George Rollins.  Tyler Profilet headed to Caruthersville, a school that knows what it's like to be without a school building, to see how they're helping.  (You may remember the tornado that destroyed Caruthersville High School in 2006.)

Some sad news to pass along.  A three-year-old girl was killed after she was accidentally struck by a tractor driven by her father near Cobden, IL.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn announced a 5-year, $12.8 billion highway improvement program for 2011 to 2016.  Carly O'Keefe talks with local folks about road projects in southern Illinois.

Bob Reeves has says a cold front will cool down the temps for your weekend forecast.

Have a great weekend!
