LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Jane Beshear was in the pink on April 7 and Kentucky's First Lady hopes others will join her on Oaks Day at Churchill Downs.

For the second straight year, the Oaks is "going Pink" to support breast cancer awareness in the Commonwealth. Mrs. Beshear hopes both men and women will participate in the event. Also returning this year will be the ‘Survivor's Walk,' which celebrates men and women who have survived the disease.

"I want [people] to be there to cheer those men and women on who have won the greatest race, which is the race of life," said Mrs. Beshear.

You can help fight breast cancer just by attending Churchill Downs on Oaks Day, Friday, April 30. Churchill Downs has pledged to donate $1.00

for every person who attends the races.
